Women's Retreat 2017

DVLC Women's Retreat - Katie Luther & You - Heroes of Faith

Sat. Sept 23rd - 9A - 2P (lunch provided)
Every year for Reformation, we hear about Martin Luther, however, since it is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we wanted to show you the Reformation through the eyes of Katie, his wife.  Did you know that Katie Luther was a runaway nun?  What about how scandalous it was for her to marry Martin Luther?  Did they have children?  Were they a happy couple? and the list goes on.
We invite the ladies of Deer Valley and our fellow WELS congregations to join us as Deb Dietrich from Bylas, AZ takes us on an interactive look into Katie's life.   Her life is a unique example of how God works through the seemingly impossible, to create one of the biggest reformations in His church since Jesus' death and resurrection.  Her story reminds us that we too are heroes of faith.  As ladies in His church, we have important roles to play to ensure God's church continues to grow for the next 500 years.
How is God using you to build His church?
Registration with continental breakfast begins at 8:30a
Tickets are $8 per person (Checks can be made out to DVLC)
Please register by Sun Sept. 17th by emailing your name, phone number, and church info to:
If you have any questions, please speak with Cathy Mundstock, Oksana Beatty, or Jenni Taylor.
Hope you can join us for a day of spiritual refreshment, fellowship, and fun with your fellow sisters in Christ!

How do I Become a Member at Deer Valley Lutheran Church?

Membership at DVLC is more than your name on a piece of paper. It is an adoption into a family of believers.

Those joining DVLC from other WELS churches will find our beliefs similar. Those coming from another church body or from no religious background at all engage in a Bible Information Class taught by the pastor.

What are the services like?

Service times are Saturdays at 6:00 pm & Sundays at 9:00 am. Dress is casual like most Phoenix destinations; you're always welcome regardless of your wardrobe. A nursery is available in the church for those with young children.

What is DVLC all about?

We are here to share the Gospel message and teach others about Jesus.

Deer Valley Lutheran Church

The Great Commission of Matthew 28 tells us that we must be going into all the world, making disciples of persons in all nations. We are part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod which has ministries throughout the world.   Our offerings go to sustaining the ministry of preaching the gospel message of Jesus here and worldwide.

We have different events throughout the year to help with our Outreach:

SPRING: Easter for kids--a one-day VBS format program for children ages 4-12 geared to the Easter theme.

SUMMER: VBS-a week long VBS for children ages 4-12 where the children learn about JESUS in a fun energetic way.

FALL:Trunk or Treat-  Trick or treating in our parking lot with cars' trunks decorated in differnent themes.  A safe environment for families with games and different activities.

WINTER: Living Nativity with Petting zoo-We have three different scenes of the Christmas story with a petting zoo, craft station, carolers, goodies and the good news of Jesus' birth.
Everything is up and running for the fall season.  Bible classes, youth programs, choir, activities for the family and worship.  Come and be part of our growing family of faith.
